female Arabian and Shetland Pony
My pony Rocky didn't like to do anything after his best friend died until he met his new friend Julie. She was just what he needed. She'll run around bucking, rearing and swinging her head just to get him to play. They chase each other around for a while until he goes back to his lazy self. Julie follows him around and watches his every move. She thinks she's his mother because of his size but he won't hesitate to put her in her place. His personality and heart are 10x his size. Julie enjoys hugs and following you like a dog all over the paddock. Curious George is her nickname.
What My Pet Means to Me:
I have had Rocky since I was 5 and we are the same age. I was the only one in my family who really enjoyed horses anymore. I attempted to teach Rocky (and myself) how to barrel race with cones. He was one of my best friends as a kid. Even though I can't ride him anymore and his age is catching up to him he is the sweetest pony anyone could ask for. He's my little teddy bear. Julie was intended as a companion for Rocky and we got her from an auction for $300. She was going to be slaughtered. Even though she is blind in her one eye, we still go for rides with just a halter and reins. They are the perfect stress relievers. They always want to come and say hi. I couldn't imagine a life without horses.
